COMMUNITY IMPACT

Our organization proudly caters to an extensive network of over 300 members stretching across Apalachicola, Eastpoint, St. George Island, and Carrabelle. Our membership includes a significant portion of the population aged 50 years and above, accounting for approximately 40% of our total membership. In addition to our member contributions, we are also financially supported by the vibrant tourism industry in our region. Tourist participation, through the purchase of day and week passes, has contributed to over 30% of our monthly income.  This relationship with the tourism sector not only underscores our integral role in the local economy but also highlights the appeal of our services to visitors. Our financial structure ensures we can continue to offer top-tier services, remain sustainable, and serve our community effectively.

Photo below - In 2020 Sandra experienced a severe fall. She broke her femur and 8 ribs which punctured her lung. The road to recovery has been arduous, but her tenacity is extraordinary. The SciFit machine has been critical for her long recovery and now she is able to add the treadmill to her routine. This has significantly improved her mobility, balance and overall freedom.

As a local grocery store manager, he finds himself doing many tasks from stocking shelves to cashier or "anything that needs to get done".  He reflected that as he gets older his fitness routine becomes more important for maintaining his energy levels.
